The team is busy and Monique, our hygiene manager is getting ready for the team to go to a client site to undertake exposure monitoring.
In accordance with the Work Health and Safety Regs 2011, a person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) must ensure workers are not exposed to lead dusts at concentrations higher than the relevant exposure standard.
Changes to Workplace Exposure Standard (airborne contaminants) for lead came into effect on 27 April 2018. Lead inorganic dusts and fumes (as Pb) TWA 0.05 mg/m3 (was TWA 0.15 mg/m3)
Exposures can occur as a result of inhaling lead fumes or dust and can occur in a variety of occupational settings such as construction, firing ranges, scrap metal recycling and mining.
Our occupational hygiene team can assess potential lead and other heavy metal exposures at your workplace.
