Do you keep injury statistics for regulatory requirements and internal purposes?
Resile believes that injury statistics should be classified correctly so that companies can have a realistic reflection of their injury performance – and take effective action.
We offer services during all three phases of the injury management process:
Manage contract pressure points
Incorrectly classified injury statistics can cause concern for a client that may result in contract pressure if there are high rates of particular types of injury. This can often be addressed by appropriate treatment of an injury and the availability of suitable duties. Accurate classification means the right corrective actions can be taken.
Which injury classification guidelines?
Guidelines for injury classification may be driven by a client preference (if an owner of a site compels their contractor to do so) but are generally framed around those from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S. Department of Labour. The OSHA guidelines are considered the standard in most operations. Site specific guidelines are generally more stringent than OSHA rather than more relaxed and normally reflect operational risks or contractual agreements.
The most common issue Resile addresses is regarding incorrect classification of lost time injuries, medical treatment injuries, restricted duties injuries and first aid injuries.
Resile can assist you to navigate this often convoluted and complex area.
