Respirable crystalline silica (RCS) refers to the particles of crystalline silica that are small enough to penetrate deep into the lungs when inhaled.
RCS is classified as a Group 1 Carcinogen by IARC (the International Agency for Research on Cancer). It is a known cause of silicosis, lung cancer and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
Resile can assist with managing RCS risk at your workplace. Working collaboratively, Resile’s Occupational Physicians and Occupational Hygienists can measure worker’s dust/crystalline silica exposure, perform a site health risk assessment, health surveillance and respirator fit testing.
