Why do you need it?
TruckSafe is a world class business and risk management system that improves the safety and professionalism of trucking operators nationwide.
TruckSafe recognised the human factor risk and prescribes for its members more frequent fitness for work assessments for drivers using the medical standards of Assessing Fitness to Drive.
How does it work?
TruckSafe accredited operators must ensure drivers are certified as fit to drive based on the commercial vehicle driver standards contained in the latest edition of Assessing Fitness to Drive.
Drivers are required to attend medical examinations to certify fitness to drive:
- at least every three years for drivers 49 years and under
- at least yearly for drivers 50 years and over.
The assessment must be conducted by a medical practitioner.
TruckSafe have also developed medical forms to conduct health assessments for non-drivers for fitness for duty.
These assessments can be conducted, in our clinics, via our network providers or at your site for the convenience of your organisation and your employees.
