What is a Fitness for Duty Assessment?
A Fitness for Duty is an independent medical assessment that focuses on determining if a person can safely perform the inherent tasks of their role without risk of injury to themselves or others.
A medicolegal assessment is strongly advised if the employer is concerned that the employee is not fit for employment. If you are looking for an assessment to safely bring someone back to work try our Fitness for Work assessment.
This assessment can address both work and non-work-related injuries and illnesses.
Following the teleconsultation with the individual, the report provided can include:

- mechanism of injury and history of event
- clinical findings
- diagnosis(s)
- capacity for work
- medical recommendation(s)
- suggested role restrictions
- answer questions provided by referrer.
